The Analysis of a Tattoo Magazine

The Analysis of a Tattoo Magazine

There are a considerable number of magazines that diffuse over the world, and it triggers the severe competition for the viewers in the industry of magazines. Each of magazines has various individual characteristics, and they have increasingly been developed to catch more attention of people. Here, I pick up one magazine, especially made in Hungary, and show how elaborated it is.

When the viewers look at the front page of this magazine, Tattoo, they see a beautiful and alluring woman. She will definitely catch every man’s eyes. Even though she is not that beautiful, you cannot help but stare at her body, because almost all of it is covered in various colorful tattoos. This magazine shows readers a number of cool and artistic tattoos, with the purpose of promoting them among more people ranged from the younger to the elderly.

Overall, the front page of this magazine is made in a simple style, and the title above the magazine easily catches the attention of viewers. There is a woman decorated by a lot of tattoos in the middle of the cover, and you can see the tattoos without having to open the magazine. The background is painted a relatively dark color, such as black and deep green, whereas the tattoos on the woman are painted in light colors, such as red and yellow. The contrast between light and dark shades works well in order to emphasize the tattoos. The picture on the front page shows only a woman, and the size is almost as large as that of the front page. Viewers understand what kinds this is the moment they see it. There is little information about the magazine in the front page, only music titles and the names of tattoo artists. Although it may seem insufficient to advertise the magazine efficiently, the tattooed lady tells you everything about the magazine, and perhaps this also may be a way to show off the decorative tattoos. Focusing on typefaces, they are less decorated and they look simple. The title and some words that stand out are red with bigger letters, and others are white with smaller letters. The price of this magazine is 590HUF, which seems to be a bit more expensive than other magazines, such as the furniture catalogue I read last week, which was 290HUF. Informed Tattoo magazines are probably less common, and only a few are published, so they can sell for a higher price.

The magazine has 122 pages and contains a lot of designs of tattoos and articles of those who have tattoos. The magazine shows readers some distinct examples of tattoos to help them to find their favorite one, and also there are some stories of people’s experiences about what changed in their mind, and how they felt after having tattoos, for instance. These will encourage the readers to have tattoos. There are some advertisements that are not about tattoos, such as banks’ and hospitals’. Certainly, they may seem unrelated to attoos, but you need money to have a tattoo and you may need to go to the hospital if something goes wrong during or after having your body tattooed.
Generally thinking, it is obvious that there is a certain connection between these advertisements.

This magazine is absolutely for those who want to have tattoos. Judging from the contents and articles, young people will enjoy reading it more than elderly people. The magazine, however, shows many kinds of beautiful tattoos, so everyone can have fun of reading it, as if they visited an art museum.
